Clement Ip
Vice President of Silicon Engineering
As Nethra Imaging's vice president of engineering, Clement is responsible for all phases of ASIC development. Clement's 20-year engineering background spans ASIC design efforts in imaging, video, graphics, processors, network controllers and PC chipsets.
Prior to Nethra, Clement was director of ASIC engineering with NuCORE Technology where he led the development of two generations of image processing ASICs for consumer digital still camera (DSC) and digital video camera (DVC) markets. The products were ARM processor based SOCs with image processing, image and video compression technologies and peripherals.
Clement's strong engineering background includes program management and engineering development roles at S3 Inc. where he was part of the team that was responsible for development of the highly successful Trio64 class of mixed-signal graphics controller chipsets. He was involved in the development of S3's first generation of mobile graphics controllers for notebook markets. Prior to joining S3, Clement was involved in designing chips for the mass storage market and IBM RT class processor development at Chips and Technologies. He began his engineering career at LSI Logic in their PC chipset development group where he was part of the AT-chipset development team.
Clement holds both a master's and bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with honors from the University of Texas in Austin.
